Find Your Perfect Match at HARP

At HARP, we’re dedicated to ensuring every animal finds a loving home and every animal lover finds their perfect companion. All HARP pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and treated with flea and tick prevention—because their well-being is our top priority.

We understand that bringing a pet into your home is a deeply personal and meaningful decision. That’s why our adoption process is designed to help you find the best fit for your home and lifestyle. Potential adopters will meet animals on a one-on-one basis through our thoughtful matchmaking process. Our experienced adoption staff will guide you every step of the way, helping you understand each animal’s unique personality and history to ensure a strong and lasting bond. This approach is especially beneficial for animals that may feel stressed in a shelter environment, allowing them to shine and meet new people with their best paw—or claw—forward.

Meet-and-Greets for Dogs

  • To ensure the best experience, meet-and-greets must begin by 5:00 PM on Tuesday through Friday and by 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

We’re here to make the adoption journey as smooth and rewarding as possible. Thank you for choosing adoption and giving a homeless animal a second chance at life!

Adopting a Pet Currently in Foster Care

Interested in meeting an animal currently in a foster home? Simply fill out this form, and our dedicated team will promptly reach out to you to arrange a meeting. Your new companion might be just a few steps away!

If you plan to adopt, there are a few basics to bring along with you:

  • A valid form of photo ID (adopters must be 18 years or older)
  • If you rent, we encourage you to talk with your landlord about bringing home a pet. If pets are permitted, verify with your landlord if there are breed or species restrictions.
  • We encourage all individuals who will be in regular contact with your new pet meet before you take the pet home! This includes: children, significant other, and your existing dog (if you’re adopting a dog), or your rabbit (if adopting a rabbit).
  • Out-of-state adopters need to obtain a health certificate and to call to confirm that a vet is present to provide one before coming to adopt.
  • Before coming to adopt please check your county’s dog licensing requirements.

Note: We do not offer cat to cat introductions, nor different species meetings. We will provide you with resources on proper introductions.

Adoption fees are charged to help us offset some of our costs for caring for the thousands of animals that enter our doors each year. All animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, given vaccinations appropriate for their age at the time of adoption, treated for parasites, and given flea/tick protection. In addition, dogs (6 months or older) are tested for heartworm.
