Make Your Legacy Loud and Clear
By including Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) in your estate plans, you’re helping HARP save domestic and wild animals for years to come. Whether you are considering a direct bequest or a more complex means of giving, your gift will enable HARP to continue its vital work of:
- Providing food, shelter and medical care to homeless companion animals and sick, orphaned, and injured wildlife.
- Educating communities on animal care and welfare.
- Providing affordable food and medical care for pets of families in need.
You don’t need to be a millionaire to plan for the future. Everyone leaves a legacy; make yours by saving lives.

Finding a Home for Your Pets
Pets are as much a part of the family as people. When it comes to your pet’s future, give yourself peace of mind with Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh’s Pet Guardianship Program. Similar to guardianship of children, pets should be provided for in your will or living trust. By designating HARP as the guardian or recipient of your pet(s), you not only ensure that your love for them lives on but also secure for them a future full of the love and care they need to live happy, healthy lives.
When providing for pets in your will or estate, be sure to:
- Be specific: include pet(s) by name, age and breed, and recipients(s) by their full legal name.
- Provide a copy of your pet(s)’ complete medical records to the designated caregiver or recipient.
- Provide description of your pet(s)’ behavioral history, likes and dislikes, and any distinguishing characteristics.
