Crescent made headlines earlier this year when a witness saw someone in a car desert her outside an abandoned house. Authorities were shocked at Crescent’s emaciated condition and clear signs of neglect – but that didn’t stop Crescent from being a loving dog, eager to trust those who came to her rescue. |
Above: Crescent, then and now. |
Months after her rescue, Crescent has benefited from a diet tailor-made by veterinary staff, treatment for her injuries and broken teeth, and the loving care of staff and volunteers. Her success is the result of a collaboration between many of HARP’s life-saving programs, from Humane Investigations and the veterinary team to animal care staff and the foster department. Crescent spent most of the year living with one of HARP’s foster families, learning how to be loved. Though today, we’re happy to announce that our girl Crescent has finally found her forever home! Her new family have shared that, “It’s going really well. She’s settled in and is getting into a routine somewhat. She’s really mellow and sweet and she adores my husband!” Crescent’s new owner describes the smiling gal as a “cuddly couch potato” and also added, “Unfortunately, our cat isn’t a huge fan, but they just steer clear of each other!” |
