The amazing Painting 1 art students at Bethel Park High School recently “adopted” some of our resident animals and committed their images to beautiful technicolor tributes!

Using photographs of their subjects and the grid method to draw out their chosen animal on canvas boards, the students were given the option to choose what painting style they thought would best portray their “adopted” pet. Each student painted their pet portrait using acrylic paint to the best of their individual abilities.

The high school students were happy to give back to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh through this community project and were very excited to help out these animals in need of a home! Most of the students donated their paintings to be a part of a fundraiser and to raise awareness at our annual Art Show being held this spring.
