Meet Kai! Kai came to us as a nervous stray who needed a little extra TLC to really shine. In his time with us, we have found that he is a lover of tennis balls and enjoys spending time with other dogs. He is a lower energy/coexisting type of dog vs a very playful one and will likely prefer a similarly matched friend. He can take some extra time to warm up to new people, but he has done great participating in our Barks and Rec field trip program where he goes out for the day with a stranger, and in our Shelter Break Buddy program where he goes out with one of our dog walking volunteers. Most of his trippers report he is a lower energy guy that just wants to spend time with his person. He also walks great on leash! Since he is still on the nervous side with new people, he may not be the best fit for constant social interactions. Thank you for your interest in adoption! We are open to process adoptions on a walk-in basis Tuesday – Friday from Noon to 6 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, adoptions are from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. To ensure the best experience, meet-and-greets must begin before by 5:00 PM on Tuesday through Friday and by 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
