The heartwarming tale of Sky, a resilient dog awaiting her forever home, is a journey marked by both struggle and hope. Sky arrived at our shelter as an owner surrender, her previous family unable to afford the veterinary care she desperately needed. Chronic ear infections, left untreated for too long, had progressed to a severe condition requiring surgery.
Despite the challenges, a glimmer of hope emerged through the unwavering dedication of Dr. Bennett, one of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh’s Veterinarians, and our compassionate partners in West Virginia. Together, they orchestrated Sky’s much-needed surgery, ensuring she received the specialized care she deserved.
Following her surgery, Sky found solace and healing in a nurturing foster home, surrounded by love and support. Now, with renewed health and spirits, Sky has returned to our East Side Shelter, ready to embark on the next chapter of her life – finding her forever family.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our generous partners in West Virginia, who played a crucial role in offsetting the surgery costs, along with the Jeremy Dentel Emergency Medical Fund.
