DESCRIPTION:Join us as a volunteer for this year’s 2024 Spay-a-Thon! Email spayathon2024@humaneanimalrescue.org to get started.\nRegistration is CLOSED! \n\nThe event is free for community and feral cats only.\nAll cats must be in a secure\, properly functioning trap\, and the trap must be covered.\nThere is a minimum of 2 cats per person\, and a maximum of 15 cats per person.\nAll the cats will receive spay/neuter\, eat tip\, rabies vaccine\, FVRCP vaccine and flea prevention. ADDITIONAL services\, including combo testing or other diagnostics/medications\, will NOT be available.\nWe reserve the right to not spay/neuter and cats that appear to be visibly not healthy enough for surgery.\nDue to the high demand for morning and daytime appointment times\, specific drop-up and pick-up times will be assigned via a lottery of all caretakers who register. Slots cannot be guaranteed to all those who register\, and all scheduled slots are not permitted to be exchanged amongst caregivers.\nDue to the inability to field phone calls related to the event\, all correspondence will take place via email.\nALL CONFIRMATION EMAILS WILL BE SENT OUT ON OR BEFORE 9/13/2024\nCaretakers will have to bring either a printed copy of their confirmation email at the time of drop off or be able to show it to us on their phone.

DESCRIPTION:Although we successfully unite thousands of animals with new families each year\, our goal is always to keep pets in loving homes that they may have already found. Ellie’s Attic supplies members of our local community with pet supplies\, assisting families that have fallen on hard times and are struggling to keep their families intact. The program’s namesake is Ellie\, a courageous Black Lab mix\, who was surrendered at a shelter in West Virginia because she suffered from a seizure disorder. Ellie was adopted by a Pittsburgh attorney on a farm\, where she was loved by her human and rescued equine friends.

DESCRIPTION:Happy Paw-lidays!  The adoption event\, which will be held on Saturday\, December 9th and Sunday\, December 10th at both HARP’s East Side (6926 Hamilton Avenue) and North Side (1101 Western Avenue) locations\, hopes to give the animals in its care the best gift\, a loving home just in time for the holidays. \nThe “Happy Paw-lidays” adoption event is an opportunity for individuals and families to open their hearts and homes to a new four-legged friend. With an abundance of adorable cats\, dogs\, and other companion animals eagerly awaiting their forever homes\, attendees can expect to find the purr-fect addition to their family. \nTo make bringing home a new friend even more joyful\, HARP will offer a 25% discount on adoption fees for adult animals 6 months or older to guests who donate an item to Ellie’s Pet Pantry. (Discount does not apply to kittens or puppies.) All animals are spayed or neutered\, microchipped\, given vaccinations appropriate for their age at the time of adoption\, and given flea/tick protection. In addition\, dogs 6 months or older are tested for heartworm. The “Happy Paw-lidays” adoption event is generously sponsored by Tri-State Office Furniture. \nFrom 10 am to noon on Saturday\, December 9 there will be special holiday festivities including holiday treats and refreshments\, special photo opportunities and a visit from Santa Claus! (Please note\, photos are for human guests and not owned pets.) In the spirit of giving this season\, HARP encourages the public to bring items\, such as dog and cat food\, pet treats\, toys and other needed items from our wish list. These donations will be used in HARP’s two domestic shelters as well as for pets and owners in need in the local community. \nHumane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh is committed to finding loving homes for animals in need and creating lasting bonds between pets and their adoptive families.
